Colgate-Palmolive posted a 27 percent gain in profit for the fourth quarter, earning $631 million, or $1.21 per share, as compared to $497 million, or 94 cents per share, in the fourth quarter of 2008. Revenue rose 11 percent, to $4.08 billion, driven by more sales, and higher prices, on household necessities as well as strong sales growth in Latin America and Europe.
